Aeropress Brew Guide

The AeroPress brews a deliciously smooth single cup of coffee using high pressure and gentle immersion. It's a wonderfully simple and quick way to achieve a rich brew. Our simple guide will take you through the steps. All that's left to do is find a spot to settle in and enjoy.

What you'll need:

  • An Aeropress coffee maker
  • An Aeropress scoop (or drip scale)
  • Aeropress filter paper
  • 12g of filter ground coffee
  • Water - filtered or bottled for optimal taste
  • Kettle
  • Timer
  • Your favourite mug

Step 1

Boil your water and set aside for 30 seconds.

    Step 2

Place your paper filter in the plastic filter and soak with warm water.

    Step 3

Attach the filter to the bottom half of your aeropress before placing over your mug, and on your scales.

    Step 4

Weigh 12g of filter ground coffee, or one full aeropress scoop.

    Step 5

Pour your ground coffee through your Aeropress funnel, into your Aeropress. Then remove the funnel.

    Step 6

Pour 200ml of just off boiling water into the bottom half of your Aeropress, making sure all coffee is saturated. Stir if you need to.

    Step 7

Immediately insert the narrower 'piston' half of the aeropress into the top few cm of the wider brewer, to seal the vacuum. Wait for 2 minutes.

    Step 8

Gently push down on the piston of your Aeropress until you hear a hissing sound. This signals that there's no more coffee to come out.

Your coffee is ready to pour and enjoy!
