Inspired by our Fox Red Labradors
Coffi Lab was inspired by something so close to our founder’s heart – the warmth and joy of his beloved Labradors. Bringing that same positive energy, this coffee is a little nod to our Fox Reds Dylan and Brynmor. Just like them, the sip is full of character, warmth and sweetness - the perfect Coffee Companion.
Nurtured in Costa Rica
These beautifully balanced beans hail from Cerro Chirripó in the Brunca Region, home to the highest peaks of Costa Rica. We source them directly from fellow coffee and dog lovers Coopeagri, a cooperative of small-scale farmers committed to community care and sustainable agriculture.
With its dramatically steep hillsides, cool mountain air and mineral-rich soils, Brunca is an exceptional environment for growing coffee. Here, the cherries take their time to mature, developing dense beans with the signature sweetness that we love.
The coffee is hand-picked from November to February before it goes through the washed process, capturing the true flavour of the bean and giving it a deliciously smooth acidity and clean body.
Roasted in Cardiff
Once these sweet beans are wonderfully ripe, they reach our little Cardiff roastery. We roast them to a smooth and balanced profile before gently resting them for two weeks to accentuate their wonderful flavours. For the final step, our roaster Adam carefully sip-tests, making sure Fox Red is just right.
Beautifully Balanced
Freshly ground, this coffee has a remarkable fragrance of chocolate and citrus, something you may already recognise from the aroma in our Labs.
It tastes delicious as an espresso but is also beautifully accentuated through milk - a balanced all-rounder, however you enjoy your coffee.
