Guide Dogs is a cause close to our hearts at Coffi Lab. To date, we’re proud to have sponsored fifteen Guide Dog puppies on their journey to becoming life-changing companions. And we’re so excited when we get to meet them!
We loved welcoming sponsored puppies Cortado and Colin to Coffi Lab Whitchurch, along with their incredible puppy raisers. Here’s a little more about these special pups and their journeys…
Meet Cortado
Cortado is an eight-month-old cross between a Labrador and a golden retriever. He’s the 39th puppy raised by amazing volunteers Jill and John. They shared that he’s a very well-behaved boy who’s growing fast and making great progress with his training.
One of Cortado’s biggest areas of progress has been his lead walking. He’s now excellent at walking in the correct position, and so much better at hopping in the car to go out.
He recently discovered the sea for the first time and although he wasn’t too keen on swimming, he had great fun splashing about with new doggy friends. At home, he loves running around with another guide dog puppy friend, and bringing in holly leaves from the garden! John proudly summed him up as ‘confident, playful and chilled’, believing he has a very bright future ahead of him.

Meet Colin
Colin is another cross between a Labrador and a golden retriever. And despite being only 5 months old, he’s a very relaxed little pup. Colin’s puppy raiser Paul told us that this sweet boy likes to roll on his back and have his tummy tickled, and has settled in so well.
He’s doing really well learning from another guide dog puppy that Paul is raising at home. He loves to go on long walks with his big brother, chasing him around and trying to bite his tail. Having an older playmate has really helped Colin feel at ease, and Paul said it’s so funny to watch them playing rough-and-tumble games.
Colin has such good manners, and it always makes Paul smile when they get back from a walk and Colin sits at the door to wait for someone else to go in before he does. Paul told us that when he was very small, Colin was often a little clumsy, which made everyone laugh, as ‘it took him a while to get used to the length of his legs!’
Overall, Paul described Colin as a 'Laid back, adventurous and loveable pup, who’s just such a delight.'
